OVERVIEW

Experience the traditions of the Argentine pampas with a visit to Estancia Santa Susana, a historic ranch located near Campana, just outside Buenos Aires. This countryside experience offers an introduction to rural Argentine culture, combining gastronomy, music, history, and traditional gaucho activities in a scenic natural setting.

Guests can enjoy the atmosphere of a working estancia, explore its historic grounds, and experience classic cultural elements such as a traditional Argentine asado, folklore and tango performances, and a live gaucho demonstration. Surrounded by open landscapes typical of the pampas, the experience provides a relaxing escape from the city and a closer look at Argentina’s rural heritage.

ITINERARY

The tour begins with departure from Buenos Aires at approximately 10:00 AM, traveling toward the pampas region near Campana. The journey takes about one hour and thirty minutes, gradually leaving the urban landscape behind and entering the wide open countryside.

Upon arrival at Estancia Santa Susana, guests are welcomed with empanadas and drinks while taking in the scenery of the estancia. Those who choose the guided option can explore different parts of the property, including the museum, chapel, and small gift shop. A traditional carriage ride across the fields allows visitors to appreciate the landscape and observe local wildlife.

At around 1:00 PM, guests enjoy a traditional Argentine lunch featuring a classic asado barbecue served with salads and dessert. A selection of beverages is included, such as soda, mineral water, sparkling water, and wine.

After lunch, a cultural performance takes place inside the estancia’s main dining hall, where dancers and musicians present tango and Argentine folklore.

Later in the afternoon, the gauchos of the estancia perform the Carrera de Sortijas, a traditional horseback competition in which riders attempt to capture small rings while galloping. The rings collected are often given to spectators, and visitors may approach the horses for photos.

During the late afternoon, a traditional snack of quince pastries and mate cocido is served before preparing for the return journey.

The experience finishes with the transfer back to Buenos Aires and drop-off at the designated meeting point.
